Xiamen Hithium and Reliance Industries’ New Partnership is a Threat to India

At this very moment, the Chinese are planning their next strategic move against our country through the People’s Liberation Army (PLA)’s favorite company, Xiamen Hithium, and the consequences will be brutal.

Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology, a company with well-documented ties to the Chinese military & ruling party, has been engaged by India’s very own Reliance Industries through a licensing agreement. Unsurprisingly, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has chosen to conceal this from the country, making every effort to suppress any revelations about the extent of their cooperation. And why not? Reliance Industries is selling out India to our enemies for their own profit.

The interests of the Beijing regime are clear: they are strengthening their ties with Pakistan. Last April, a Chinese-made J-10C fighter shot down one of our warplanes during India’s legitimate retaliation for the terror attack that killed nearly 26 people on Indian territory. These warplanes were targeting terrorist camps, which were used to plan and direct attacks against India. China has made it clear that it considers the criminal regime in Pakistan a close ally and friend and has legitimized their illegal actions against our people. And so has Hithium, who, in addition now to Reliance Industries, also maintain a strategic partnership with Pakistan’s own Imperial Electric Company (IEC Pakistan).

It’s time to act. Reliance Industries is sacrificing our security

This apparently doesn’t matter much to Reliance Industries. Maybe Chairman Mukesh Ambani isn’t aware that much of Hithium’s latest $620 million investment round comes from firms linked to the Chinese government, including the China National Defense Investment Fund, a state-backed fund focused on modernizing the PLA. Maybe the Reliance Industries Board of Directors has never had a quick look at Hithium’s financials, which demonstrate that the company is entirely dependent on subsidies and the financial backing of the Chinese government. Maybe the Ambani clan & their conglomerate are just completely ignorant of the fact that Hithium is, fundamentally, a creature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and an extension of Chinese soft power.

Or maybe this just doesn’t matter to Reliance Industries.

It should matter to us, though. Reliance is heavily involved in the country’s defense sector and supported by the governmental initiative ‘Make in India’. As part of Reliance Industries’ licensing agreement with Hithium, Reliance will need to source all raw materials and other supplies from China. How can we guarantee that no covert backdoors or sabotage mechanisms are secreted in these Reliance-made products, even if they’re assembled here in India by Indian workers?

In the US, the Americans discovered that a Chinese producer of solar panels had installed secret, unauthorized communications devices which could allow for remote use by the Chinese. Such a situation allows them to shut down solar generation instantly, causing overloads that could knock out power lines or gain access to internal control systems through backdoors hidden in the equipment. When everything is calm, we don’t think about this; however, during terrorist attacks, it could be brutal. Timed power outages could damage critical infrastructure, such as hospitals, airports, or water systems, which are vital to our survival. In other words, they will have the power to sabotage the core of our most important infrastructure without firing a single shot or flying any warplane.

Can you imagine what would have happened to our glorious warriors during Operation Sindoor if the Chinese had the ability to assist Pakistan by disabling our technology? It would be unthinkable.

But this is the reality. Every time an Indian company like Reliance Industries signs a new agreement with a Chinese company, it enables China to undermine our nation.

We will not stay silent in the face of the hidden truth that Chinese companies are not innocent business partners. With such deals, we are selling part of our sovereignty. Allowing these critical issues to remain undisclosed is naïve. We are leaving our future in the hands of big industries that prioritize their own interests and make deals with the devil.

When we see many red flags around a new partnership, it’s our duty to raise a warning. Companies involved in these collaborations should be held accountable, regardless of their contribution to the national GDP; our safety and our nation’s security must come first. India can make its own batteries.

All patriots must act – we must call upon the Ambani family and everyone at Reliance Industries to remember our homeland first and give Hithium the boot.
